Screencast Tutorial

by Michael on March 28th, 2007 in Lavasoft Products.

Thanks, Steve, for sending us your Ad-Aware screencast and quick product tutorial.

Beta Four was released today, so make sure you download and are working with the most up-to-date fixes.

Speaking of fixes, you'll find them on The Beta Page after you log-in on the Beta-Applications page, or in the beta forums.

We've also added a button on The Beta Page so that you can track what bugs you've submitted. Make sure to check it out.

Thanks for another great week of feedback and creepy crawlers (bugs)!

Beta Three

by Michael on March 16th, 2007 in Beta Testing, Lavasoft Products.

Beta Two had another astonishing 340,000 downloads. That's even more than Beta One. Kudos to our beta testers worldwide!

Beta Three is ready and waiting on The Beta Page (after login to the Beta-Applications page).

Happy testing!

Lavasoft News recently interviewed blog pioneer Rebecca Blood, who had some insightful things to say about the progression of the "web log."

"Everyone has a story to tell. Everyone is passionate about something. For some people it's their profession, for some people it's their family, and for others it?s politics or knitting or food. The Web enables people to connect with others who share their interests - whether that interest is shared by only 3 other people, or by 3000."

You overwhelmed us with the download of Beta One, the final tally ending with 330,337 downloads!

Now it's time to update to Beta Two, which is ready and waiting on The Beta Page (after login to the Beta-Applications page).

Keep the feedback coming, and each Friday we'll release a new Beta for you. Thanks for your participation in the process!

Beta Update

by Michael on March 7th, 2007 in Beta Testing, Lavasoft Products.

Thank you for your overwhelming response to the Ad-Aware 2007 Beta, and for your patience.

We've done our part to optimize the process, and we'd like you to return to the Beta-Applications page in the Security Center to log-in with your e-mail and password to enter The Beta Page. You will find everything you need on The Beta Page including the Beta download, instructions, bug report forms, an area to submit your ideas, a beta forum, features, and more!

Wow! We have received an overwhelming response and interest in the Ad-Aware 2007 Beta. Nearly 50,000 people had already downloaded the Beta in a matter of hours after release. Since we currently have 127,000 registered beta testers, we realize there are a number of you out there who still need to download the Beta.

It's Here!

by isergant on March 6th, 2007 in Beta Testing, Lavasoft Products.

Now for the moment you have all been waiting for ...

We are proud to announce that the Ad-Aware 2007 Beta has arrived!

For the 120,000 + beta testers that have registered to be among the first to try the all-new Ad-Aware, you can now download the Beta by using your registration information to log in to the Beta - Applications page in the Lavasoft Security Center (and keep in mind, it's not too late to register as a Lavasoft beta tester, if you have not already done so).

From day one, we believed - and still believe - that computer users everywhere have the inherent right to choose what products they use to protect their personal privacy. So we are always just a little sceptical when Goliath force-feeds their newest programs on so many trusting and forgiving souls.

We don't like to brag. OK, maybe sometimes, only when it's really, really necessary.

The public beta for Ad-Aware 2007 is still a few weeks away and we already have more than 50,000 people signed up, eagerly awaiting the chance to test it.

Thank you to all those who have registered and to those who plan on registering. We look forward to getting your feedback. You will be helping create the final product trusted by hundreds of millions of computer users around the world.

What's New in Ad-Aware 2007?

by Erin on February 13th, 2007 in Lavasoft Products.

For the thousands of you who answered our call for Ad-Aware 2007 beta testers, and for those of you who still plan to register, the Ad-Aware 2007 beta will be ready for you to try out in only a few more weeks. With that in mind, it's the perfect time to bring you the first peek at the highlights of our upcoming new product!

First, we'd like to answer a few of your questions on Ad-Aware 2007. Some of you have been asking about the versions of Ad-Aware that we will be releasing. When Ad-Aware 2007 is released later this spring, you will be able to choose from Ad-Aware 2007 Free (the new version of Ad-Aware SE Personal, which will, as always, be completely free of charge), Ad-Aware 2007 Plus, and Ad-Aware 2007 Pro. Those of you with a valid license for Ad-Aware SE will be able to upgrade to the new product, free of charge.

Since the commercial release of Windows Vista at the end of January, several media outlets have written articles listing which computer programs are currently compatible with the new operating system and which ones aren't.

What we want to make clear is that we are now concentrating all of our energy on the new-and-improved Ad-Aware 2007. The new product, with a public beta expected in early March, WILL be Vista compatible and very likely Vista Certified.
