Many of you have been eager to know about the latest version of our anti-spyware product, Ad-Aware 2007. You may have also read in the February edition of Lavasoft News that we are currently in a VIP beta testing phase, and our developers are working directly with the experienced team of VIP beta testers to provide you with a more powerful anti-spyware tool that doesn't load down your computer resources.
We're not ones to brag... didn't we tell you that before? Well, in our defense, this is news, after all!
Ad-Aware SE Personal was named a Runner-Up in the "Best Free Download" category of Computer Shoppers' 21st Annual Shoppers' Choice Awards.
We were voted the first runner up behind - Mozilla Firefox. We don't think taking second to a browser favorite like Firefox is bad at all!
We're not ones to brag. We know we don't need to bombard you with in your face advertising because Ad-Aware speaks for itself every time it scans your PC!
But we're proud of our commitment to securing your privacy and security, and we're proud of the way you, our users, respond to that commitment. That's why we don't mind taking a moment for a little shameless self-promotion.
We received confirmation from CNETs Download.com website that Ad-Aware is number one in total software downloads.
...To buy Ad-Aware SE products at 15 percent off!
The holidays may be over, but we extended the sale on all of our products into the month of January. So if you haven't already taken advantage of our special offer, make sure to do so today, before it expires!
Is age a factor when it comes to Internet use? Even though we sometimes think of computer technology being limited to a younger generation, it's not always the case.
Studies are showing that the number of seniors that surf the web is on the rise, with some calling them the fastest growing demographic. Last January, a Pew Internet report found that 34 percent of Americans age 65 and older go online, up from 29 percent in January 2005.
This is cool stuff. We have just released a special edition of the Definition File updates with 5,567 fake codec variants. This is cool stuff!
You won't get this one anywhere else. These fake codecs have been flooding cyberspace, and we're taking a stab at them. They have been mercilessly picking up victims and tossing them aside without a second thought. They infect, regurgitate, infect again, regurgitate, infect again, and so on, and so on.
Todays news: Project Eco is back, and able to protect you better than ever. Project Eco was re-released today to tackle new malware strains that are unable to be identified or removed by any other anti-virus or anti-spyware programs.
Coming from Greek origins, the term "Eco" means home. It's a term that represents our surrounding environment. We know that computers are, and will continue to be, a part of our environment, and we are committed to protecting that environment- at home and at the office, at work and at play.
Dear PC World:
First off, we fully understand why you chose to review Lavasoft's Ad-Aware SE Personal in your August 25th article, "Spyware Fighters."
You're right: it is popular software! In fact, Ad-Aware SE is trusted by more than 200 million computer users worldwide. But, what we don't quite comprehend is why your article ranked all of the reviewed anti-spyware software, both paid and free, together in the same group.
This is a re-occuring issue which I would like to highlight, and explain why it occurs. This is also something which is posted in our FAQ's on http://lavasoft.com/support/faq/, though I will explain in more detail here.
