Todays security warning: be on the lookout for e-greeting card scams.

These spam scams have been on the rise lately, especially this past month. A story that ran over the weekend in the Washington Post reports that about 275 million phoney online greeting cards have been e-mailed since July 2. Instead of enticing a PC user into opening an attachment, the hallmark of the latest scam is to con you into clicking a link to a supposed e-card, which then infects your computer with a virus.

The U.S. FBI also released a warning last week about greeting cards containing malware.

To be on the safe side, make sure to use discretion before you open that e-card waiting for you in your inbox.
