"Italian Job" Malware

A malware attack that has been underway since late last week compromised more than 10,000 websites by Monday morning, reports say.

Attackers have hit targets throughout the world, yet more than 80 percent of the infections are on Italian websites.

The attack, dubbed the "Italian Job" by analysts, has infected thousands of legitimate websites, reaching tourism and local government sites.

If one of several targeted vulnerabilities is available and unpatched, visitors to these sites will be facing drive by malware downloads. As always, make sure you are running an updated, fully patched version of your browser - this malware can be used to attack IE, Firefox, and Opera.
