Is your PC Patched?
Some of the most common methods of malware infection are through exploits of unpatched operating systems (like Windows), web browsers, and software programs. In spite of that, only one out every 20 users is running a fully patched Windows PC, according to recent reports.
How do you stay current and up-to-date? You can use the Microsoft Update website to download critical security software updates for both Windows and many other Microsoft programs that you may have installed. Make sure that the Windows "Automatic Update" feature is turned on so that you receive security patches when they are released.
A patched PC is part of the bare minimum (along with having anti-spyware software, an anti-virus program, and a firewall) you need to control the security of your computer.
