We know that some of you are encountering issues with the definition file update. If this is the case please follow the steps below:

1)   Click "Start" and search for the folder corresponding to the version of Ad-Aware program installed: C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware Antivirus\Antimalware Engine\2.6.0.0\Plugins (for versions 11.1.5152.0, 11.0.4530.0), C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware Antivirus\Antimalware Engine\3.0.0.56\definitions or C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware Antivirus\Antimalware Engine\3.0.98.0\definitions (for later versions).

2)   Once you have found the Plugins (for versions 11.1.5152.0, 11.0.4530.0) or definitions folder (for later versions), please highlight it and hit "Delete". Some files will not be able to be deleted, a window will pop-up telling you that you cannot remove this file, check the check-box and click the "Skip" button. 

3)   Please re-start your computer and then open Ad-Aware, the definition files will update accordingly.
