AV-Comparatives, an independent organization which runs systematic tests on antivirus products has awarded the latest version of Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware Free Antivirus+ a three star Advanced rating in its comparison tests. Our software was tested against the best antivirus vendors in the industry such as AVG, McAfee and Kaspersky and either matched or surpassed our competitors' rankings. AV-Comparative's official approval for software performance is globally recognized and we're very happy to have achieved such high scores. 

In the test for Total Detection Rates, Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware Free Antivirus+ was tied for second overall, detecting 99.7% of all the malware samples tested:

Conversely, in the failure to detect test, Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware only missed 0.3% of all samples and beat out many of its competitors:

Additionally, Ad-Aware’s false positive results were also very low, meaning it did not set off false alarms for safe files:

The test was conducted using a Windows 10 64-Bit environment and analyzed a total of 166,522 malware samples. The researchers at AV-Comparatives attempted to use prevalent malware samples from the months preceding the test date, therefore the tests were conducted using real-world virus samples which are currently endangering users.
