Ad-Aware AE 8.0.6 was released on June 17th, 2009.
In order to update your Ad-Aware software:
1. Open Ad-Aware.
2. Click the “WebUpdate” button in the “Main Status” menu.
3. Restart Windows.
Change log:
1) Updates to command line parameters.
2) Connection error during the update.
3) Splash screen hangs during start.
4) Minor issues with Japanese languages.
So we're beta testing bundling the Google Chrome web browser with the Ad-Aware installer.
If you choose to start using Chrome you might (like me) usually go in to your newly installed program's settings to check what tweaks can be made and what can be done to maximize privacy and minimize system resource use.
All the big browsers have their cookies setting. Use it to control (some!) of what you are sending to third parties and avoid being exploited by some of the worlds biggest 'habit spys' operating in their own little safe-zone!

As of June 8, 2009, we will no longer offer new sales of our stand-alone anti-virus product, Lavasoft Anti-Virus Helix.
Important note: Lavasoft will continue to offer threat updates and full customer support for all Anti-Virus Helix customers throughout the duration of their licenses.
Ad-Aware AE 8.0.5 was released on May 26th, 2009.
In order to update your Ad-Aware software:
1. Open Ad-Aware.
2. Click the “WebUpdate” button in the “Main Status” menu.
3. Restart Windows.

1) Update to Japanese Language.
2) Updated the Mini Message to display non Latin characters.
3) Bug fix in Lavasoft news feed.
4) Added scanning engine statistics.
If you're experiencing a 'connection error' when clicking web-update please try updating from the start menu (Start->All Programs->Lavasoft->Ad-Aware and click 'Ad-Aware Updates') or use one of the workarounds below.
1. Go to C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware and right click onAAWService.exe, select properties in popup menu and in the Compatibility tab. Change the Compatibility mode to "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (service Pack 2)" , click ‘apply’ then ‘ok’. Do the same for Ad-AwareAdmin.exe and then retry the web-update.
Ad-Aware AE 8.0.4 was released on April 21st, 2009
In order to update your Ad-Aware software:
1. Open Ad-Aware.
2. Click the “WebUpdate” button in the “Main Status” menu.
3. Restart Windows.
Important Notice!
The Lavasoft Activation Server will be down for maintenance between 10.30 AM and 12 PM (Central European Time) on April 17th.
During this time it will not be possible to activate the Ad-Aware software or access some parts of the Support Center.
Normally, you activate a license by registering your license Serial Number in the "Manage License" menu in Ad-Aware.

As of March 31, 2009, technical support and Definitions File updates
will be discontinued for Ad-Aware SE Plus, Ad-Aware SE Professional and
Ad-Aware SE Enterprise.
