Software update 8.2.6 was released today. June 29, 2010
It includes:
A fix for a bug affecting detection of cookies
When scanning for cookies, the bug caused the cookie scanner to stop before looking through all locations where cookies are stored. The bug affected only cookie detection, and it only occurred on some systems.
We have just release an update to Ad-Aware.
It includes:
- Updates to scan statistics.
- Added Mozilla Thunderbird to whitelist.
- Adjusted the size of the configure proxy dialog.
- Fixed crash in configure proxy dialog.
- Fixed text overlap when switching from simply to advanced mode.
- Fixed profile switching back to default profile in scheduler.
- Several stability fixes.
We are experiencing high traffic on our servers which may be causing slow updates and even failed connections and time-out errors.
We are working to resolve this issue. Please try to updating again in a few hours.

* Visual Studio 2010
A fix for an issue that made Ad-Aware crash when installing Visual Studio 2010.

Today we released an update to Ad-aware that includes the following:
* Windows Security Center
The Windows Security Center used to indicate that you were out of protection, even though Ad-Watch was in fact running; this has now been fixed. As an added bonus, you should now be able to turn Ad-Watch on from the Security Center as well.
* Ad-Watch Modules Stay Turned Off
The issue where Ad-Watch modules would re-enable themselves automatically has now been resolved.
* ESET NOD32 Incompatibility Detection
Today we released an update to Ad-Aware that includes the following:
* Improved whitelisting for Ad-Watch.
In cases where Ad-Watch detectes files or processes as being suspicious, but users want to run the software anyway, Ad-Watch now has improved whitelisting capabilities, allowing these users to make exceptions for these programs.
* Ad-Watch Files turns itself off when incompatible software is found.
Incompatibilities between the Ad-Watch Files module, introduced in 8.2, and similar functionailty in other security software has caused some systems to freeze up.
Following this week’s release of version 8.2 of Ad-Aware, Lavasoft became aware of an issue with scanning that affected a limited number of our Ad-Aware users. This has only affected users of Windows XP (Home and Professional).
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or concern this may have caused. Lavasoft’s developers prioritized this issue in order to promptly resolve it, and a software update to fix the issue has now been released. In order to resolve the issue, please update Ad-Aware by clicking “Web Update.”
