Virus Bulletin 2011
Lavasoft attended the 21st Virus Bulletin conference in Barcelona from 5-7 October.
Virus Bulletin is a leading security industry publication who's annual conference presents the latest research, defensive procedures and the chance to discuss future developments and countermeasures. It also provides an opportunity for experts in the anti-malware arena to share their research interests, discuss technologies, as well as meet with - and learn from - those who put their technologies into practice in the real world.
Around fifty papers were presented covering a wide range of subjects from a fascinating description of the m00p gang investigation which detailed extensive and effective co-operation between law enforcement and the security industry to the free-wheeling and oddly unsecretive lives of Brazilian crimeware writers before being apprehended by the Brazilian Federal Police.
A huge amount of work goes into organising the Virus Bulletin conference and our thanks go to the Virus Bulletin team, all the speakers and Avast who provided free beer for the duration of the conference. Cheers and see you next year!
