TheDefend is yet another clone of the WiniGuard family.

Like other versions of this rogue family, it will install by using a fake online scanner and then drop and report numerous fake infections. The user is asked to license the product in order to be able to remove these infections.

Ad-Aware will detect TheDefend as Win32.FraudTool.TheDefend and Win32.FraudTool.WiniGuard.
