New rogue: HomeAntivirus 2009
HomeAntivirus 2009 uses many of the normal rogue behaviors. First and foremost, it puts plenty of garbage files on the system that it then detects as malware.
Once the scan is finished, the user is required to license the software before the “threats” can be removed. HomeAntivirus 2009 also presents a fake Windows Security Center that tries to trick the user into licensing their product.
