New Rogue: MySecurityEngine

by LS Anders on April 23rd, 2010 in Rogues, Security Alert.

MySecurityEngine is a new rogue anti-virus application. It is a clone of SmartVirusEliminator.

MySecurityEngine spreads through fake online scanners. Once installed, it will detect several false infections. Purchasing a license for the rogue is needed to remove these infections. MySecurityEngine will also prevent other security applications from starting.

Ad-Aware detects MySecurityEngine as Win32.FraudTool.MySecurityEngine and Win32.FraudTool.SmartVirusEliminator.
