Facebook Privacy Controls 'Missed the Mark'

by Erin on May 26th, 2010 in Industry and Security News.

As Facebook privacy concerns continue to grow, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has responded with public comments in a column published yesterday in The Washington Post, acknowledging that missteps had been made and reaffirming that the social networking site will simplify its privacy controls in the coming weeks.

Zuckerberg wrote in his open letter – in response to concerns that Facebook’s privacy controls are too complex – that, “Our intention was to give you lots of granular controls; but that may not have been what many of you wanted. We just missed the mark.”

What do you think - are you concerned about your personal information on Facebook? Has the controversy stopped you from sharing and connecting with friends and family through the site?
