Data and Your Privacy

From what we now know, 2008 was a record year for data breaches. And, from what we've seen so far in 2009 - with news of the extensive Heartland breach and more compromised data on Monster.com - the outlook for this year does not look promising.

Adding to that, a recent survey, published in conjunction with "Data Privacy Day", has shown that almost one in five people have been a victim of an Internet scam, and well over half have admitted that they have no knowledge of online threats and scams.

But, it's not all doom and gloom - there are actually a number of ways that users can easily increase their own security awareness and stay up-to-date on the latest threats. At Lavasoft, we're helping you to put the knowledge you need about your online privacy at your fingertips: check out the latest security buzz through our industry news listings, browse the Security Center for tips or the Research blog for daily threat updates, and while you're at it, sign-up to receive our monthly security newsletter, Lavasoft News.
