Lavasoft received very monumental test results for their award-winning anti-malware software, Ad-Aware 11 Free Antivirus+ from one of the prestigious independent testing labs for antiviruses, AV Comparatives.

The File Detection Test measures the aptitude of antivirus programs to detect malicious files on a system. Ad-Aware 11 Free Antivirus+ is awarded with the Advanced+ ranking and a 3-star rating for its final file detection test. More than 100,000 malware samples are used for the test, Ad-Aware Free Antivirus+ effectively identified 99.5% of the malicious files that were collected within a period of few weeks before the test is performed.

To ensure that the tested programs do not simply identify all unknown files as malware, a false-positive test is also conducted for every File Detection Test. Once again, Ad-Aware Free Antivirus+ scored very well, it only detected very few (3) FPs (false positives).
