We are happy to announce that Joe Wells will be joining the Lavasoft team as chief technology officer.
Joe is well-known for his extensive career in anti-Trojan and anti-virus solutions as well as his more recent work within anti-spyware and emerging security threats. You may also know him as the founder of the WildList Organization International, an international cooperative identifying and reporting the latest virus threats.

We, the Web Dev here at Lavasoft, have been quite busy improving every nook and cranny of our site.
Our latest update makes it easier for you to handle your purchased licenses. You know - downloading the software, upgrading old SE licenses to the new Ad-Aware 2007 and renewing your licenses that has expired.
In the August issue of Lavasoft News, part of our focus is how we can all do our part to make sure that the technology-centered world we live in leaves a less harmful impact on our surroundings. Lavasoft has recently teamed up with an eco-friendly company, GreenPrint. GreenPrint software automatically eliminates wasteful pages in printouts, saving time and money, but also saving trees.
You probably know that creating strong online passwords is one piece of the security equation. You may know that you should change your passwords on a regular basis. You may know that you should create passwords of at least 10 characters, comprised of letters, symbols and numbers. And you may know not to have your browser store passwords and log-in credentials.
With the news of the return of the "Storm worm" with a vengeance and reports of the rise and rise of malicious websites, there's really no such thing as being too cautious when you're online.

While many countries worldwide have been trying to get to the bottom of phishing scams and identity theft attempts, Italy has just made progress with an operation dubbed "Phish and Chip."
